DIRECTV (Circular)

After being tasked with a templated refresh of DIRECTV's newspaper circular cover, I took my design assignment one step further by "redefining" the satellite TV provider's stellar H(igh)-D(efinition) service as the campaign's Creative Director and Copywriter.The result was a huge coup, as previous covers contained about 5x as much text with nary a concept. Note that all requested visuals, save for rare typographic anomalies, arrived as restrictive key art that had to be comped up, approved and rarin' to go on short notice. DIRECTV’s micro internal creative team regularly competes with Deutsch and Grey for its own accounts. As a long-term permalancer I art directed, penned headlines and long-form copy, paper engineered and even illustrated for every line of business.
